It’s that time again, you know what I mean. The moment where I say something that most believe but don’t want to hear or accept. This is honestly my favorite thing to do, and I hope you all enjoy it as well.
We can all probably admit that choosing to get in shape and stay fit after that point is very hard work. In fact, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed right now just thinking about it. I get it, there's a lot to consider when making a plan to get fit and stay fit.
There’s so much effort that you have to put in to keeping a healthy diet
You need to have next-level will power to avoid your snack food vices
There's a large amount of determination required to get out of bed earlier than your friends and get to the gym
There’s the energy needed at the end of a long day to put those running shoes on instead of turning Netflix on.
That’s all a lot to overcome and to have to handle. Here's the thing though, life is hard. Choosing to be fit & healthy is hard. It’s a constant struggle between making the choice to do what’s hard now, or choosing the easy way out.
What I believe most people fail to see is this; It’s not a choice between the hard thing or the easy thing. At the end of the day, its truly a choice between hard now or hard later. What do I mean by this?
Simply put. Every EASY choice you make now will have a lasting effect on your life in the future, typically we’ll end up setting ourselves up for a HARDER life in the future. Don’t believe me? Think about it like this.
Being unhealthy and constantly taking trips to the doctors or the hospital is hard
Being out of shape and unable to get out and enjoy life is hard
Being overweight and out of breath is hard
Spending the rest of your life living in a body that’s constantly in pain is hard
Do yourself a favor and really weigh your options as you make your decisions going forward.
Do those snacks really mean more to you than living diabetes free?
Does avoiding cardio mean more to you than being able to play tag with your children?
Does watching Netflix instead of getting to the gym mean more than your hearts health?
Does an easy life now mean more than a long life?
I hope I’ve given you a little to think about as you go through your daily lives. Every day I want you to ask yourself if you’re choosing hard now or if you’re choosing hard later.
If you need help to make the right hard choices, please reach out to me. I'm here to help you.
