Favor What Matters

Take a second, think about your favorites. We all have a list of favorite things, most of us don’t have it written down anywhere, but we all know it by heart.

Our favorites list holds all of the things that we find important. TV shows, movies, friends, family, food basically all of the things that we always seem to want more of. Pretty much it’s the stuff that you feel, makes life worth living.

And for many of us (hopefully all of us) somewhere on that list is your health and how you look. No matter where those things sit on your list, you know that looking great and feeling great make life even better.

What I find the most fascinating about our favorites list is that somehow, we’ll always find time for the things on it.

  • Favorite TV show is on? Gotta go watch it!

  • Chris Pratt is in a new movie!? Nothing else matters, I’ll see it immediately.

  • When you’re hungry, you order that favorite food... even if you had pizza from that same place two days ago for lunch, and over the last weekend...

  • Speaking of the weekend, you hung out with your favorite group of friends last weekend, and you’re supposed to finish that assignment for school... but let's go see them this weekend!

So, as we can see, you’ll always find a way to make time for the things you want. But, when it comes to exercise, you all of a sudden “don’t have time for that”.

We life in a fast paced, jam packed life, where every day is filled to the brim with things to do. We don’t have extra time anymore. But here’s the thing: We don’t have time.... We make time.

  • You make time to watch Netflix

  • You make time to go to your favorite restaurant

  • You make time to see your friends.

Let’s be real, the honest answer isn’t that you don’t have time. It’s that you don’t want to make time. The truth is. It’s an excuse.

We’ve already covered that you can make time for the favorite things in your life. Somewhere you know that you want good health, more energy and to look great.

Exercising can provide all of these things for you.

Truthfully, I believe that exercise should be on your list of favorites. It should honestly be high on your list.

So, let’s do that now. Make it a favorite.

But, how do you turn something that you normally dread into something that you actually enjoy?

There are a few easy tips that should help you along the way. Check them out below. Shun the Negatives

The way you view and think about things plays a lot into how you determine what your favorite things are. So, make an effort to block out any negative thoughts that you have about exercise. Instead, focus that energy on creating a positive view towards exercise that will get you excited about going to the gym or getting out there for that run. Let the Benefits Shine

Honestly, focus on the benefits. There is so much to gain from exercise, and frankly... nothing to lose (besides fat/weight). It makes you stronger, happier, sexier, relieves stress, helps you sleep, gives you more energy. So pick one or multiple benefits that align with you, and focus on that with extreme attention.
