How to Upgrade Your Mindset – Part 4

Over the next few days I’ll be posting a “series” type blog post that focuses on mindset and some easy exercise we can all do in order to upgrade your mindset so to speak. As I post these topics, I’ll have them all categorized and numbered for easy access if you happen to find a blog post halfway through the series. This topic is one of my favorites and is easily the most important subject when it comes to growth in your life.

Expect Daily Miracles

Before we can expect daily miracles, we need to understand what a miracle is.

According to Marriam-Webster a miracle is an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.

What does that mean exactly? To answer that truly, we first need to think about how different each individual's life and circumstances are. A miracle to one person could be the ability to have a meal when they didn’t think they’d be able to afford it, while on the other hand it can be a miraculous recovery from an illness or disease. Whatever a miracle is to you, it's something unexpected that leaves a positive and lasting impact.

When You Look for Miracles, You Receive Miracles

Truthfully, expecting miracles is heavily tied to the power of attraction. The law of attraction simply states: Like always attracts like, or positive thoughts attract positive results. Breaking this down in to the simplest form, if you wake up every day and ask for a miracle it will come to you.

Now you’re probably thinking “Oh this is crazy, there's no way that works” but it’s been proven many times, by many people that asking and expecting miracles works. A quick search on google will give you a multitude of professionals and successful individuals who believe in this “Crazy Woo – Woo Stuff”.

Back before I believed in the power of asking for miracles I fought against the idea, then I got to a point where I figured “What could it hurt to try” so, I started asking (by writing in my journal) and then something amazing and unexpected happened (read my first post in the series to find out <Click Here>).

Need another example? When Hunter and I were trying to get pregnant (I mean, I got pregnant... he had the easy part) my doctor told me that I probably wasn’t going to be able to have children due to the extreme levels of hormone fluctuations from my birth control. They said if I was lucky, it would take about a year or two for us to even get close. Well, I practiced the act of looking for miracles after that appointment. Every day during my morning ritual, I would ask to be blessed with a child. Within a month we found out I was pregnant, shocking not only us but also my doctors.

It may seem like a “pipe-dream” to ask for a miracle and to have it happen, but I promise it won’t hurt to try.

Be Thankful for The Miracles You Receive

Expecting miracles goes further than just asking. In order to receive miracles, we also need to practice being thankful for the miracles we’ve already been given. Small things that may not seem like miracles to you may be huge things to others, so be thankful for them. Need some examples of miracles?

  • Not getting stuck in rush hour traffic on the way in to work

  • Getting a promotion at work when you were positive jane in cubicle 12 would get it.

  • The police officer that just pulled you over let you go with a warning.

  • Your teenage daughter didn’t argue with you when you asked her to clean her room.

The smallest simplest things could be miracles, and being thankful and expressing that thanks to the universe could translate to larger and more frequent miracles.

It starts with a shift in your focus. Why wait? Start now!
