Stuck Losing The Same 5 Pounds?

It’s something I hear often enough, and it’s happened to me. Honestly, everyone struggles with this at some point.

“I keep losing 5 pounds, and then I’ll just put it right back on”

It’s frustrating, but there are 3 key things that typically lead to people being in this situation. Then best part, they’re really quite easy to solve.

You’re Eating Too Much

Those extra calories will really quickly combat any positive progress you’ve made. The worst part is that extra calories can come from healthy foods just like they can come from unhealthy foods. It’s true that healthier foods commonly contain a lower amount of calories, but you can still eat “too much” and end up defeating the purpose of eating that food in the first place.

I’ve had plenty of people tell me that they are staying away from junk food and eating healthy food, but it’s important to remember that too much of anything isn’t good for you.

You’re All Dried Up

Being dehydrated is a common reason why people can’t lose those last 5 pounds. Most of us around the world live in a perpetual state of partial dehydration. That isn’t good at all, for any of us, or any part of our bodies. Water has so many different benefits, it’s not just to quench your thirst. One of the biggest things that water is good for is as an appetite suppressant, it fills your stomach and prevents you from overeating. The other thing that many people don’t realize is that by being dehydrated you’re actually blocking your body from fat loss.

Make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day, every day. There’s a good chance that those stubborn pounds you’ve been trying to kick just need some more water to help them out of the way.

Give It Your All

At the gym, or during exercise, it’s important to really give it your all to ensure you see the results you’re looking for. Just going through the motions won’t get you to your goals at all. I know it’s hard, and I know that it’ll make you feel uncomfortable but putting out as much effort as possible will 100% yield better results than staying comfortable and “taking it easy”. Look, don’t get me wrong, being at the gym at all is going to yield better results than just sitting on the couch, but if you’re here to really hit those goals... You need to put all of your effort in to each and every session.

Think about the last 6 exercise sessions you did. What was your effort on a scale of 1 – 10?

Fall below an 8 on average? If so, it’s probably time to step it up and really see the results you’re looking for.
