Tear Down Those 2020 Roadblocks

Here we are, half way through the second month of 2020. It’s at this point that most people start to neglect the resolutions they’ve set for themselves. Where do you stand? Have you made progress or is your motivation starting to drop off?

If you’re like most people, you’re probably waiting for motivation to swoop in and take over for you. Unfortunately, motivation doesn’t do that, motivation is something that you create. It’s something that you find through active work.

If you feel like motivation isn’t a large thing in your life, it’s probably due to some sort of mental roadblock that you’re not addressing.

I’ve put some of the tips I use below. These should help you get past the roadblocks and keep making progress towards those resolutions.

  1. When a negative thought shows up in your day, overcome that thought at that moment. The moment they show up is when they are the weakest.

  2. Find what’s important to you, and focus on fostering that.

  3. Set small goals that are easily attainable (but still require work to achieve)

  4. Know you WHY (This is probably the most important on the list)

  5. Know where you want to go. Otherwise, you’ll likely end up in a completely different place.

  6. Reframe exercise to be a fun activity that you look forward to and that’s exactly what it will become.

  7. Make a killer playlist of motivating songs that you use to fuel you during your workouts

  8. Don’t think of yourself negatively. If you think you’re overweight, then you’ll stay overweight. Train your mind to believe you’re fit, and you’ll become fit.

  9. Wake up and get the hardest task in your day done first. This will keep your mind hungry for constant progress.

  10. Have a “Daily Mantra”. You become the things you think about most.

  11. Learn to love yourself. Forgive yourself for your past failures, and love the lessons you’ve learned from them.

  12. Look towards your future with enthusiasm. If you believe you have better things coming, then they will.

  13. You can have the body, life, and future of your dreams, but first you must give up the thought that you will not have it.

  14. Every decision you make leads you down a path. It’s your choice if that path brings you towards your goal, or away from it.

  15. The river between success and failure is small, but must be bridged. Your bridge is determination.

  16. There are only two true things you can have in life: Results or Excuses

  17. There are many things in life that can get in the way. The only true things that can hold you back however, is YOU

Have you noticed that your resolutions over the last few years haven’t lasted long? Is your resolution for 2020 already following the same path?
