The Fountain Of Youth Is Just A Few Steps Away

We’ve all heard the tales of epic journeys and expeditions to find the fabled fountain of youth. They’re exciting, dramatic, fun and epic. Honestly, I can’t blame anyone for spending their whole life looking for the fountain of youth.

The thing is, it’s always been so much closer than they ever thought. In fact, if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that the fabled elixir is within arms reach at this exact moment.

Yep! You guessed it. Water!

That seemingly simple liquid that the vast majority of us take for granted, that thing that we love to waste as we’re brushing our teeth or doing dishes. Water, it turns out, is the true fountain of youth.

Now I know you’re probably looking at the screen right now thinking I’ve completely lost my mind. But hear me out on this one. Water makes up more than two thirds of our body, but sadly nearly 75% of adults suffer from mild, chronic dehydration.

Water consumption must be on the top of your list if you’re interested in having a fit, athletic and healthy body.

Water has the power to do far more than you give it credit for. You honestly don’t think about it often (or ever) but water is literally the most important element, besides air.  So, how exactly is water so beneficial? Why do you need to make it a priority?

Here are just a few bits of information that lead me to believe that water is, in fact, the “fountain of youth”

  • Water regulates the thermal state of your body

  • Water helps to flush toxins from your blood

  • Proper hydration promotes healthy, clear and glowing skin

  • Water and the correct hydration levels help to promote proper lubrication of your joints

  • Water aids in digestion and is key in pulling nutrients from the food.

  • Water prevents disease. It’s been shown that drinking the proper amount of water every day has a chance to reduce the risk of colon and bladder cancer.

Based on those facts alone, I’d want to ensure that I’m consuming enough water to keep my body happy and healthy. However, if you’re also focused on fitness and fat loss, you may be wondering how important water is to your progress.

You probably already know that drinking plenty of water will aid in fat loss, but do you actually understand why it helps?

Your Appetite Water is a natural appetite suppressant. If you drink a glass of water before you eat your meal you’ll probably find that you don’t finish the whole meal, even though you normally do. This is because water helps the food you’ve just eaten expand when its in your stomach, this fills your belly quicker. On top of that, your body will be able to extract the nutrients from the food far easier than it would if you hadn’t drunk water.

This also works with snacking as you go through your day. Ensure that you stay hydrated throughout the day and you’ll be surprised by how much less you want to snack.  Fat Burning Machine Water helps your body more efficiently metabolize fat. This all starts in your kidneys, once they receive enough water to function at peak levels. As your kidneys start to work away, your liver reach's optimal efficiency and starts to remove the toxins and waste that are stored within your blood. Since you liver is now working at peak efficiency, the fat in your body will be metabolized at a much faster rate. Leaving you with a decreased level of body fat.  Now that we’ve looked at how drinking enough water can benefit you, it’s important that we also look at some of the ways you can negatively impact your body by not drinking enough water.

  • By not drinking enough water, your body will go into “conserve” mode, this means that your body will hold on to everything it can to survive. This includes stored fat.

  • Your bodily functions will slow, which over time will end up decreasing your energy levels.

  • Headaches will become your best friend. Our brains are over 70% water, so if you’re dehydrated, your brain is dehydrated!
