Hi Everyone! So for those of you who follow my social media accounts, you may know that Rei and I have been super sick the past couple of days! We are fighting some sort of common cold. Now for all you other breastfeeding Mama's out there you know how hard it is because you can't really take any medicine when breastfeeding! Not that I really like to anyways! Rei being only 11 months old; I can't really give him anything either! So I have been living off of all natural things that have been proven to help you feel better! I decided to start my day with a post on my favorite home remedy; TEA! Even more specifically my favorite flavor tea especially when I am sick!

Apple Cinnamon tea is by far my favorite! It is super easy to make too, and I make it with fresh ingredients except for the tea part of course! So let us start by talking about the health benefits of cinnamon.

Health Benefits of Cinnamon:

  • Cinnamon can help to regulate blood sugar.

  • Cinnamon can help to stabilize energy levels.

  • Cinnamon can help to reduce cholesterol.

  • Cinnamon can help to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

  • Cinnamon can help to relieve menstrual cramps.

  • Cinnamon can help with infertility issues - A compound found in cinnamon helps to decrease testosterone levels and increase progesterone levels in women.

  • Cinnamon can help to reduce arthritis pain.

  • Cinnamon contains iron.

  • Cinnamon contains calcium.

  • Cinnamon can be used as a natural way to preserve foods.

  • Cinnamon contains fiber.

  • Cinnamon can help to reduce  chronic inflammation.

  • Cinnamon can help to reduce the risk of/help with diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and more. - More Research is being done to prove this further, but cinnamon can help to reduce chronic inflammation, and that is the main characteristics of these diseases.

Ingredients for my Apple Cinnamon Tea!

3 Red Apples (You Can Substitute for 1 Cup of Organic 100% Apple Juice if wanted)

1 Cup Organic 100% Apple Juice (From Container)

4 Sticks of Organic Cinnamon

5 Organic Green Tea - tea bags

3 Cups of Water

2 Tablespoons of Raw Premium Manuka Honey

Instructions:

  1. Take your 3 apples, and blend in Nutribullet OR Ninja Blender. - Or whatever powerful blender you have. (We have the Ninja Blender, the personal blender, the whole Ninja System and even the Ninja Cafe Coffee Maker I am OBSESSED! They all work so well, I highly recommend!) If you don't mind pulp in your tea, then you can do a coarse blend. If you mind pulp in your tea, I would recommend using a juicer. (We have the Hamilton Beach Juicer. It was on sale at Target and is SUPER easy to clean which has always been my complaint about juicers.)

  2. Strain into a cup, to take out the larger pieces of skin. Most skin should blend but not all of it.

  3. Add cinnamon sticks, apple juice (from the container), fresh apple juice, water, and manuka honey in a pot and bring to a boil. - I let boil for 5-10 minutes.

  4. Turn heat off but add tea bags putting the cover over the pot and letting tea bags sit for 5-10 minutes. Dunking the tea bags in and out every 2 minutes or so, and stirring.

  5. Take the Cinnamon Sticks and tea bags out.

  6. Enjoy!

You may garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon sticks! That is what I do for added flavor! I hope you all love it as much as I do!

PEACE LOVE & HAPPINESS. LOVE THE SKIN YOU'RE IN. #BBTE
