What Is All The Hype About Apple Cider Vinegar?

So today I decided to let you in on a little secret. There is one item that I have been using for about 4 years now, and I have been using it for absolutely everything! I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar in my tea two times daily. One tablespoon in my morning tea and one tablespoon in my evening tea! If I do not have tea I add it to my water 2 Tablespoons to 32-48 oz of water. And even to my homemade dressing recipe! The only time that I stopped using it was when I was pregnant and my acid reflux was at its worst. Other than that I even continued its use throughout most of my pregnancy. First, let's talk a little bit about apple cider vinegar.
Apple Cider Vinegar has served as a home remedy for many minor ailments for many years. In the past few years, it has started to get more recognition as people have begun giving it more credit and using it more. Here are just a few perks of apple cider vinegar.
Use one: DRINK DRINK DRINK! You can add apple cider vinegar to your water tea etc., but drinking a small amount daily has many benefits. It can help with weight loss because of its acetic acid. It can help to maintain your body's pH level. Now the pH level is more specifically for women because apple cider vinegar can seriously work miracles for women experiencing any excess amounts of bacteria, yeast, or any other vaginal discomfort. When drinking it, you are helping to detox your liver! You want to be sure you are cleansing while you start your diet, well here is a great way! It can contribute to reducing heartburn. Lastly, I have already mentioned this, but it can seriously help to fight candida. So once again if you are having any issues due to excessive amounts of candida, apple cider vinegar is there to help save the day! ** BE SURE TO CHECK WITH A PHYSICIAN BEFORE USE. Use two: Need a facial? If you mix 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1 cup water, you can use this mixture as a toner. Putting this mixture on your face can also help to tighten the skin. Lastly, it can be used to help with acne breakouts as well. Do you want to stop those pesky breakouts? Well here is your saving grace! **BE SURE TO USE ON SMALL SPOT TO CHECK SKIN SENSITIVITY TO PRODUCT**
Use three: How healthy is your hair? One of the first reasons that I had ever used apple cider vinegar was for my hair. If you mix 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/2 cup water and use after shampoo, you will notice a huge difference in your scalp and hair. Doing this will make your hair shiny and soft. It will also help to remove build up from products. This mixture will also help if you have dandruff. It helps to give you that extra clean feeling.
Use four: Imagine a beautiful day on the beach, and you get there ready to get a kick-ass tan. You pull everything out of your bag and realize you forgot your sunblock. You refuse to go home to get it and realize, well a few hours won't kill you right? The next day you regret your decision. Do you have some apple cider vinegar in the house? If you mix 1 cup apple cider vinegar into a bath and soak in it, you will instantly feel relief. **Added tip: if you rub yourself in coconut oil after your bath, your sunburn will have further relief.**
Use five: Apple cider vinegar can be utilized as a disinfectant! You should always dilute your apple cider vinegar. To use as a disinfectant, you should dilute one-half cup apple cider vinegar with one cup of water. You can use this to clean surfaces all around the house without the harsh smell of bleach products. You can also use this mixture to assist in breaking down build up on dishes and in your microwave! If you heat up this mixture in the microwave for 2 minutes or so and let it stand for a few hours, you will be able to just wipe down all of the build-ups in your microwave with a wet cloth. It is truly a miracle! Makes cleaning the microwave so much easier!
Use six: Who else hates the hiccups? I know that I sure do. Well, apple cider vinegar to the rescue once again! A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar can stop the hiccups in their tracks!
Use seven: So living in the United States, the decision to eat healthily is 110% up to you! Let's talk about cholesterol. Cholesterol is, "a type of fat (lipid) in your blood. Your cells need cholesterol, and your body makes all it needs. But you also get cholesterol from the food you eat." (CDC, 2017) Here are some quick facts on high cholesterol:
73.5 million adults (31.7%) in the United States have high low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or “bad,” cholesterol.1
Fewer than 1 out of every three adults (29.5%) with high LDL cholesterol has the condition under control.2
Less than half (48.1%) of adults with high LDL cholesterol are getting treatment to lower their levels.1
People with high total cholesterol have approximately twice the risk for heart disease as people with ideal levels.
Nearly 31 million adult Americans have a total cholesterol level greater than 240 mg/dL.1
Well, there needs to be more research done for there to be a definite link between apple cider vinegar and cholesterol levels, but in 2006 a study showed that acetic acid (which is what is in apple cider vinegar) lowered bad cholesterol in rats.
Use eight: WEIGHT LOSS! Everyone wants to lose weight nowadays, but not everyone wants to put in the effort or even has the time. Some small changes daily can help. Why not start by just incorporating apple cider vinegar into your diet. I suggest putting two tablespoons in 32+ ounces of water. Apple cider vinegar has been proven to aid in weight loss; Why you ask? It contains acetic acid, which suppresses appetite, increases your metabolism, and reduces water retention.
Overall, Apple cider vinegar is a little part of my secret! I use it consistently, especially during my cut season. Try it, even for a month and see what it does for you!
