Hi Guys! So as I wrote about it all being mental and just getting up and doing your workout no matter what I didn't realize how much like an ad I sounded.
"If you want it. JUST DO IT"
Apparently, I was promoting NIKE without even knowing it right? Ha Ha Ha. Anyways so I realize it is nice to say hey guys get up and do it, but it is easier said than done right? Well, I read an article a couple of weeks ago in a random magazine (I don't remember which one exactly), but it went on about you have to make a bunch of small changes in life for a significant change to occur. Well if you are not a morning person getting up is a lot of work never mind getting up and going to the gym! So it got me thinking maybe I should give you guys some tips on what I tell me clients or how they change their routine. Once you have changed your routine for 14 days, it is so much easier to maintain.
So I compiled a list of a few things that you could do to try and hold yourself accountable, and make you want to get up and go to the gym every day.
Train with a trainer: Training with a coach will make you want to be there. It goes back to the post I wrote about not breaking a commitment when you commit to someone else but making it so easy to break a commitment to yourself. Well committing to a session will get that butt out of bed and if the commitment doesn't get you out of bed then maybe the next point will.
Booking a class or session with a cancellation fee: Book something that you are going to be charged whether you go or not. If you commit to being there and try to get out of it last minute you are still going to have to pay either a fee or for the entire session. No one wants to throw away money right?
Have everything ready for the morning: The faster you can get out of bed and get to the gym the better. The more time you spend in the house trying to wake yourself up the easier, it gets to say "well maybe I will just skip the gym today." Set everything up for the gym the night before so all you have to do it roll out of bed, slip into clothes, brush teeth and hair, and head out!
Buy a few new outfits and take gym selfies: So I am NOT a gym selfie person. I really dislike when people take 45 gym selfies in one session. One or two is fine a video of a workout is great as well, but four thousand selfies in the gym locker room is a bit of overkill. BUT if that is what you need to do to stay motivated then do it! Get a new outfit that you think is super cute get that butt to the gym and while there take a super cute selfie after your workout and show it off!

Don't skip your cup of joe in the morning: Coffee has caffeine. Need something to wake you up but also work as a pre-workout! A good old cup of coffee will do the trick! Brew it the night before! Have it ready and drink it on your way to the gym! Not only will it wake you up but it will give you a boost of energy through your workout.
Make a realistic gym schedule: So many people try making a schedule that is unrealistic. You can't go from sitting on the couch every day to being in the gym seven days a week. One you NEED to take a rest day if you don't rest you WON'T see a difference. Also if you make a plan that is too intensive for the first week, you will easily get burnt out. You want to ease your way into fitness that way you can make it a lifestyle.
Workout with a friend: I know everyone has at least one friend who wants to go to the gym as well but just can't seem to find the time. Find a friend that is also willing to commit but has a hard time getting to the gym and buddy up! You would be surprised at how accountable going with someone else will keep you.
Switch up the workout: Do not do the same exact workout every single day or week. If you do so the routine will become repetitive not only will you not see much of a change after a while but you will also get bored of the same old thing. Thus making the gym boring. So keep it fun and new and remember muscle confusion is the best way to train!
Last but certainly not least; Do not be afraid of weight lifting: I know plenty of people women more specifically who go and do the same cardio for a year and see little to no difference! Do not be afraid to dive into the weights and start lifting. You WILL NOT get all jacked and "get a man body." do your research and create the body YOU want. You can absolutely build the body you want you just have to want it and stay focused. Also those of you women who are embarrassed in front of men, I can tell you from experience, I have been doing this for a long time now. I have met more men (starting out) who are more embarrassed to lift in front of women then you are in front of them! You would be surprised! Always keep that in mind.
Try these things out. Start making small changes that can lead to a significant change! Remember that Strong is Sexy! You can totally do this! Make a goal commit to yourself and CRUSH IT! Have a blessed day yall!
